Call for Proposals for Small Grants Programme

This Call for Proposals (CFP) is announced to select eligible grant proposals from Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs), including Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) on a competitive basis for
UNDP Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme Operational Phase 8 (OP8) project
to “Sustain ecological, social, and economic resilience to climate change through community and
stakeholder engagement and partnership” focusing on community-led, inclusive, and innovative
actions to enhance biodiversity conservation, climate mitigation, and sustainable livelihoods, with
project sites categorized into 2 landscapes as per the SGP OP8 Country Programme Strategy document
i.e., within landscape (Pema Gatshel and Eastern Region of Bhutan) and outside landscape (reaming
14 Dzongkhags).
Organizations (CSOs), including Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) on a competitive basis for

Program Specification
To be eligible for this call, an applicant must meet the following minimum criteria:
• Be a Civil Society Organization (CSO)/ Community Based Organization (CBO) officially
registered in the country (applications to be accompanied by proof of legal status under the name
of the CSO/CBO signed and stamped by the relevant authorities).
• Have sufficient operating experience and capacity to execute the proposed application.
• Be established and operating in the target region/province/districts.
• CSOs must have experience managing at least two similar projects during the last four years,
focusing on activities related to global environmental issues or sustainable development at
community level.
• Have a valid bank account open under the name of the organization indicating Bank Name,
Account Number, Branch Name, and Swift Code, (an official letter from the Bank should be
attached confirming the Bank details).
• Women- led registered CBOs are encouraged.
• Prior experience working with local communities, particularly youth, women, and vulnerable
groups is highly desirable.
