The AU–EU Summit Model is joint initiative of Model AU–Ethiopia, the European Union Delegation to the African Union, and the African Union Commission’s Women, Gender and Youth Directorate (WGYD) which will be held at the African Union Commission Headquarters on May 12-13 , 2026.
Taking place between Africa Day (May 25) and Europe Day (May 9), this event marks both dates and aims to give central stage to young people.
Delegates discuss the AU-EU partnership by playing the role of Ministers, Ambassadors, Heads of State, Commissioners and senior officials from both continents, while developing skills in diplomacy, teamwork, leadership, public speaking, and negotiation. Above all, they will engage in decision-making processes and produce recommendations to be shared with both AU and EU officials and member States representatives.
The AU-EU Summit Model will focus on the main pillars of the AU-EU Partnership: Multilateralism, Peace, Security and Governance Green Transition/ Economic Cooperation, People-to-People Engagement, Education. It will be an example of Youth Empowerment and Development.

Applicants must:
Be a national of AU or EU member states
Be pre-college, university students or recent graduates
Be between 17 and 30 years old
Be proficient in English or French
Demonstrate passion for Agenda 2063 aspirations,
