Best practices and innovations in fruits and vegetables value chains: Call for nominations

Recommended Opportunity
Fruits and vegetables play crucial roles in food security, nutrition and livelihoods worldwide. They provide essential nutrients, sustain millions of small-scale producers and contribute to more sustainable and resilient agrifood systems.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is preparing a global report, tentatively titled “Unlocking the full potential of fruits and vegetables globally” to highlight the roles of fruits and vegetables in transforming agrifood systems globally and to promote validated transformative actions.

The report will:

Feature selected case studies of replicable and scalable practical approaches and innovative solutions.
Synthetize key trends, best practices and innovations that address challenges across the value chains of fruits and vegetables - from production and processing to trade and consumption.
Provide evidence-based recommendations.
Program Specification
Submissions are open to organizations and entities working at national, regional or international levels, including research and academic institutions; government agencies; the private sector; non-profit organizations; farmers’ organizations; and civil society.

Nominations may describe either proven practices with measurable impacts or innovations with strong potential, even if their impacts have not yet been demonstrated.
